Internet Mapping Framework (IMF)
  • IMF is an Internet mapping utility that works through your Internet Browser
  • IMF is an initiative of the Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management
  • Internet Mapping Framework uses ArcIMS software
  • Several IMF applications are currently available at:
       http://maps.gov.bc.ca

Online Cadastre

  • Uses Internet Mapping Framework
  • Online Cadastre provides internet access to British Columbia Crown land cadastral information
  • Users can select the geographical area where they want to view and/or print maps
  • Users can generate reports of selected parcels
  • Hyperlink from Online Cadastre to Tantalis GATOR for access to scanned original documents and detailed Crown cadastre information (only available for Government of British Columbia employees at this time)

What is Tantalis GATOR?
  • Tantalis GATOR uses your Internet Browser to view scanned images of original documents (current and historical) including:
    • Crown grant documents and tracings;
    • Survey field notes;
    • Official plans

  • Tantalis GATOR requires pre-registration and a User ID before access
  • For frequent use Tantalis GATOR clients can acquire an annual subscription, or
  • For occasional use clients can pay online with their credit card via the Internet Payment Plan (IPP)

Online Cadastre – Features
  • Version 1.0 includes the most frequently accessed information
  • Primary Parcel, Rights of Way, Well sites, Crown grants, Integrated Cadastral fabric, and several base map layers including contours
  • Select one or more parcels
  • Turn layers on and off
  • Very intuitive interface
  • 30 minute learning curve for basic functions
  • New users will become proficient after 2 hours
  • Online tutorial / help system is being developed

Training Available
  • An online tutorial is being developed
