Sustainable Resource Development Branch
Economic development is a shared responsibility involving
local, provincial and federal levels of government, non-governmental
organizations, First Nations, and investors. The Sustainable Resource Development Branch is one of many partners working to
create a positive investment climate.
Key Initiatives
The Sustainable Resource Development Branch
is centrally positioned to serve as a catalyst in economic
development. Key initiatives include:
- Implementation of the a Crown Land Access strategy
for economic development.
- Development of enhanced tools and information to
support economic analysis of land use planning and
economic development opportunities.
- Leading and supporting the development of sector
initiatives and strategies.
- Implementation of an economic development strategy
for First Nations.
- Completion of oil and
gas pre-tenure planning in
the Muskwa- Kechika to ensure timely access to crown
land for oil and gas exploration.
- Strengthening regional partnerships and supporting
regional economic development planning.
