Oracle Case Designer

Access to the Designer (CASE) product set is available only to authorized users. Oracle Corporation licenses the Designer software to the BC Government on a "named user" basis.Therefore, access to the Designer product set is restricted to in order to comply with Oracle licensing policies

Oracle Repository Upgrade Strategy

The Ministry is presently using Designer 10G patch release 9.0.4.5 for their CASE repository; any upgrade patch will be applied in consideration with the Ministry of Forests repository. See Access Procedures posted on the Intranet.

Forms Designer Template

The Forms Designer Template is used to assist in the generation of Oracle Forms from within the Designer/2000 tool; this template has the standard Ministry triggers etc.

Designer Preferences

Designer preference sets are used to provide a consistent "look and feel" across applications. NOTE: the Designer v.6.0 preferences are also contained in the Forms Designer Template (v.2.0.0) file.

Oracle Versioned Repository Policies

The Oracle Case repository is currently versioned and works on the principals of check-in and check-out. Documentation on use can be found on the Intranet Data Administration .

Designer Standards

Designer standards are available from our intranet site only. Contact the assigned Business Analyst to arrange VPN access to our intranet if you are an application maintenance provider.
